COVID-19 Health Information for Families
COVID-19 Enhanced Measures
Community Commitment
The best mitigation strategy for COVID-19 is our commitment to each other. Participating in the TBS Children's Center requires each of us to commit to the current public health recommendations outside of school. Members of our school community show great care for each other. By being extra cautious, seeking medical advice for even minor symptoms, sharing information, and asking questions when unsure, we are ensuring the health of our entire community.
Reporting & Follow Up of Illness
If your child is sick with any of the following symptoms, please keep them home and let us know:
Surveillance Screening
Surveillance screening is a valuable tool to reduce risk of viral transmission in our community. All children and faculty are encouraged to participate and results are shared in our weekly newsletters.
Masks
Children ages 2+ are expected to wear masks when they are not eating, drinking or resting. Please send your child wearing a mask, with a spare in their backpack.
Limited Entry
Classroom entry is restricted to essential adults only.
HVAC
Air circulation and quality are key factors in the prevention of COVID-19, our entire HVAC system has been upgraded to keep the air clean. We increased the rate of ventilation so that more fresh air is coming into the building and the air is rotated more frequently. The system now runs before people are expected in the space and until after they depart to increase air circulation per hour. The filters are upgraded from standard filters (MERV8) to a much higher level of filtration (MERV13). These filters are better at capturing smaller particles so they don't get sent back into the air.
Handwashing
Regular hand washing is one of the best ways to avoid getting sick and prevent the spread of germs to others. As part of our daily curriculum, children will learn to wash their hands properly and often. When soap and water are not available, we use a safe, alcohol based hand sanitizer under close supervision.
Cleaning
High touch surfaces are cleaned with a multi-step process that includes cleaning with soap and water before disinfecting or sanitizing.
